Newest Posters!!!

Ok, I didn't really plan this, but it appears that I, Russ Tucker, appear in the entire first line of posters. What's up with that?? It's not like I'm into self promotion or anything. Right...?

Welcome to the newest section of our website. This past holiday season found me with my back against the wall time wise due to the overwhelming demand for action figures (which you can see to your left) and I had to come up with some gifts pronto. I'm a movie buff (and film school graduate) and a photoshop fanatic so the logical solution seemed to be--make fake movie posters. I sifted through all of my photo files and found images that inspired some theme. The first four posters below star my family: dad, mom, brother, brother and his girlfriend, respectively.

Please click on the thumbnails for a larger picture. The picture will load into a new window. Ordering information can be found at the bottom of this page.

"The Fisherman" embodies my father's passion for fishing and attempts to evoke the feel of a heartfelt drama. The boat in the lower right corner is one of his favorites, the Marlin VI, which has regularly scheduled trips out of Montauk, Long Island for Striped Bass, Fluke and Porgies.

"Meet the McCues" is a slight take-off on "Meet the Parents", with the photo above her head catching all of her brothers and sisters in a candid moment between posed reunion shots. The idea of the poster is that we are looking at a picture wall in my mother's house, so there are other photos partially seen. The uppermost obscured photo is actually my father from Christmas 2002 reading a copy of "Everybody Poops".

For my brother, I took a cue from the "Die Hard" poster, reimagining Phil as the hero of a action film that takes place in the museum where he works. The first two bars on the poster are shots of the museum with explosions layered on top. The bottom bar is simply a frame grab from "Butch Cassidy...", the joke here is that it so obviously from another movie, I didn't even attempt to mask the cowboy hats or exploding wood.

The fourth poster reminds me of an introspective romantic drama and I was very fortunate to find photos that lended themselves to bleeding into whiteness. The reason that there is a small turtle poking out of bottom right side of the poster is that Phil and Erica are proud 'parents' of a energetic box turtle named Isabel. That, and I was trying to do some Farrely type of thing like the dog from "Something About Mary" or the blind weasel from "Along Came Polly".

The fifth poster is a recent addition I created as a thank you gift for the cast and crew of a video shoot I recently performed in. The very fine folks at Bose were the producers. The high-definition video with surround sound will be used to demonstrate the lifelike experience provided by BoseŽ home theater systems. It will be presented in Bose retail stores around the world. The first use of (excerpts from) "The Little Dragon" will be in a new show that will reach the first of their stores in mid-April and should be in all of them by the end of June.

When I am not in the studio sculpting figures, you can find me playing with puppets. The six people on top are my fellow puppeteers and the all-knowing woman in the front is the director and designer. The gentleman on the bottom in the purple frock is world renowned storyteller, Jay O'Callahan whose story we were bringing to the shadow screen as Jay told to a live audience in front. Please be aware that this poster is a loving spoof of our experience and is not the official movie poster.

This next poster was ordered by an old friend and former client of Highly Flammable Toys, Erin Wheeler who back in 2003 ordered a figure of her main squeeze Kevin Cousins. Happily, few things have changed if you compare the figure and the poster. Both have a beaming Erin and Kevin as well as their two minature schnauzers, Moose and Silly Dog.
